Lots of new local music to go around this weekend, folks. We've got two notable release shows tonight from Nashville rock standouts Keegan DeWitt and the Honeymoon Thrillers.

DeWitt wowed us right away when he moved to Nashville from Brooklyn a few years back and released the full-length orchestral pop stunner Islands. Tonight, he celebrates the release of a new EP he calls Nothing Shows, and while it's giving us a much needed new dose of Island's melancholy, string-laden folk, it's also got some surprises up its sleeve, like the stomp-and-clap fueled pop singalong "Say La La." The CD release party takes place at 12th and Porter at 8 p.m. with Mikky Ekko and the Bridges.

The Honeymoon Thrillers are the new modern rock crew led by brothers Nathan and Cary Barlowe -- best known for their work in Luna Halo, as well as inadvertently penning the Taylor Swift hit "Untouchable" (which was originally a Luna Halo tune). Their self-titled full-length debut features bass work by Kings of Leon's Jared Followill, and might remind you of the sunnier, punkier patches of LH's major-label debut. Stream the new music at thehoneymoonthrillers.com. They'll celebrate the album's release at 9 p.m. at the Basement with Cobra Cheetah Tiger Viper and Cold Stares.
